The North Face x Supreme

nrthsprm1.jpg

I don’t usually fall for collaborations, but this one is incredible. Mix one of the most respected outerwear companies with one of the most respected streetwear companies and you have The North Face x Supreme Summit Series jacket. Comes in two fresh colorways and peep the inner lining; the cheetah print is already huge in Japan so look for it on almost every t-shirt, hoodie, and sneaker this spring. Be the first to rock it. Jacket drops March 2nd exclusively at all Supreme shops worldwide.

Budweiser Bites Comedy Group Whitest Kids

Bud Light

DDB Chicago created an ad for Bud Light that aired during the Super Bowl. The ad was mildly entertaining and features guys slapping each other instead of a fist bump.

Turns out that the concept for the ad was stolen from the comedy group the Whitest Kids. Not only was it stolen but apparently Budweiser had contacted the Whitest Kids 6 months ago to do work for Bud and Whitest Kids turned them down.

While were on the subject of the Whitest Kids, check out their Hitler Rap sketch.

Hard Drivin’

The Isuzu Gemini was popular in Japan in the mid 80’s. It was a basic compact car. What’s notable however is the commercials that ran for the line in the Japan at the time. Incredible driving and cinematography, subtle enough to remain classy, yet edgy enough to get in your head. Check out a montage of the commercials HERE.

Podcasts!: Part 2 (deux)

weekly.jpg

Weekly Drop is a podcast giving you the latest from the sneaker and streetwear scene. Hosted by industry gurus Jeff Carvalho, Rob Heppler, and Frank the Butcher, this show also serves up some great interviews with the likes of Dave White, Mr. Cartoon, Jeff Staple, Stash, Dave Ortiz, and David Gensler. They don’t update as much as I’d like, but it’s always a great morning when the updating icon pops up next to Weekly Drop in the iTunes playlist.

Electronic Plastic, designed by Buro Destruct, is a great book featuring tons of info and photos all about the history of hand-held electronic games. The writing is what you’d expect, but the pictures and design more than make up for it.
