Before Nintendo changed history and made the Famicom, they released a series of handheld games under the “Game & Watch” banner. They were simple LCD games that also told the time. The series began in 1980 with the game Ball and ended in 1991 with Mario the Juggler. There is a huge sub-culture of Game & Watch collectors within the video game community, and some of the rarer ones can sell for upwards of $500! If you ever see one at a yard or garage sale, snatch it up, it may be worth a ton.

My favorite anime series of all time. The story follows a highschool freshman cursed with not only ridiculous red hair, but a tendency toward the unlucky. He joins the basketball team to win the heart of a girl, and after discovering his skills grabbing rebounds, he gains a new respect for the sport and his team. This series runs 101 episodes and ran from 1994 - 1997 in Japan. Geneon attempted to release the entire series in the US but only got to episode 25. Luckily, fans have taken it upon themselves to translate the series and its readily available online and on ebay.

Wanderlei Silva puts his belt on the line on Feb. 24th after a crushing defeat at the hands of Mirko Cro Cop. For those who don’t know, Wanderlei Silva, hailing from Brazil, has been the Pride FC World Middleweight Champion for the last six years. Do a youtube search for the guy and bear witness to one of the most brutal, violent, and tactical fighters to ever step into an MMA ring. Man…I’m late getting to this one, but I’m sure glad I didn’t miss it all together. If you have a PS2 and still haven’t played Resident Evil 4, do yourself a favor and pick it up. Best game ever made for the PS2 by far. It’s unbelievable how they fit a game of this size onto a PS2 disc, especially with the graphics, free roaming, cinemas, and extra features. Most places have it available for $20.

Here’s a great documentary about graffiti. Infamy profiles the lives and ambitions of some of today’s most noted street artists. Jase, Saber, Earsnot, and Claw are just a few of the talents you’ll see in this flick. Someone was gracious enough to put the whole thing on youtube. If you like the movie, support the cats who made it and pick it up on DVD.

Wow. I’m only 2 episodes in and already I’m hooked! They do a great job of making a total creep someone you really want to root for.

DDB Chicago created an ad for Bud Light that aired during the Super Bowl. The ad was mildly entertaining and features guys slapping each other instead of a fist bump.

Turns out that the concept for the ad was stolen from the comedy group the Whitest Kids. Not only was it stolen but apparently Budweiser had contacted the Whitest Kids 6 months ago to do work for Bud and Whitest Kids turned them down.
